Sunbeam Travel Iron

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Travel Iron

If you have ever traveled on the cheap and needed to spruce up for a more formal setting, you probably know how difficult it can be to find an iron.  They aren’t something most hostels have lying around, and if they do, chances are you don’t want to use them.  We haven’t used this portable travel iron, but we have heard some good things about it from people who have.  And at $12.99 it is certainly worth the investment.

Fancii Cool Mist Personal Mini Humidifier

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Personal Humidifier

I was able to try this humidifier out while traveling last week and it is fantastic.  I was having some issues with the winter dryness and someone loaned me this humidifier to use.  I was thrilled with how this humidifier is designed and how well it works.

You just fill up a water bottle, plug it into the humidifier, and then turn the bottle upside down.  There is a mechanism inside the humidifier that doesn’t let the water out of the bottle until it is in place.  Sorry, my explanation isn’t more technical.  Remember, I want to be James Bond, not Q.  I’ll stick to using the cool devices, not designing them.

The humidifier isn’t going to humidify a whole house but placed next to your bed at night it will do your nose and sinuses a world of good.

O2COOL Portable USB or Electric Fan

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Travel Fan

If you have ever been in a sleeping arrangement on the road when it is hot, and there is no air conditioning available, then you are fully aware of how miserable a night that can be.  I spent a few sleepless nights in Tanzania (think the surface of the sun type of hot) before I decided to seek out a fan.  Ever since then, I don’t travel anywhere that is insanely hot without a travel fan.

What I really like about this fan is that it can be powered both by an AC outlet or USB.  So if you don’t have an electrical outlet near your bed, just plug it into your laptop and you are all set.  And at $14.99 you can’t go wrong with this fan.

Travel Pillow with Neck Support

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Neck Pillow

Two things really bother me when I take long flights.  Not having neck support, and having knee issues.  We’ll get to the remedy for the knee issues in a minute.  If not having adequate neck support during a flight bothers you, then you should really check out this pillow.

Not only does it give you a comfy place to rest your head, but it also supports your neck.  Just think, no more resting your head against a cold airplane window.  Other travel pillows are alright, but this pillow really goes above and beyond in the comfort department.

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Electronics Organizer

If you are a photographer or just like to carry a lot of electronics with you when you travel, then you are going to love this product.  I got one of these last year and it is already one of my favorite travel accessories.

Gone are the days of fishing cables out of bags and leaving cables on planes and in hotels.  This is a great way to make sure that all of your cables, USB drives, memory cards, and other electronic accessories are stored away and organized.

MonTien Wine Bottle Protectors

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Wine Bottle Protectors

These wine protectors really came in handy during our trip last year to Sonoma Valley.  I really wish we had these when we visited both Italy and Spain.  If you are tired of wrapping wine bottles in clothing inside your checked bags, then you will really enjoy these wine protectors.  They are a bit on the pricier side at $13.95, but they are reusable.

SwissGear Travel TSA Laptop Backpack

Travel Backpack

This is, without a doubt, my favorite product on this list.  I have had this bag for a few years now, and I absolutely love it.  Not only does it have ample storage for some carry-on clothes, books, and other gear you want to carry on with you, but the bag is an electronics lover’s savior.

The bag fits a full-sized laptop, plus a tablet, in the back compartments.  And if that isn’t great enough, there is a pocket inside to put your phone.  It also includes an access point for your headphones to connect without having to leave the bag unzipped.

The two side pockets are great for items that you need easy access to, like your glasses case, charging cords, or other accessories you might need on the plane.  The front pocket has storage spots for pens, your passport, and other documents, and a key chain strap to connect your keys so that you don’t lose them.  Fantastic investment at just $59.99.

Master Lock Personal Safe

Travel Accessories for 2018 - Personal Safe

If you worry about your valuables when you travel, then you are going to love this personal travel safe.  It’s lightweight, shock-absorbent, and waterproof.   Best of all, with a 4-number combination, it is also pretty secure.  Just wrap the cable around something unmovable and lock in place.

Use it to store your phone, your keys, your passport, your wallet, or other small valuables you might be carrying when you travel.  What I like best about this safe is that it is lightweight and easy to pack at its size.

If you are tired of having to carry a travel power adapter kit that includes a handful of adapters, then you will love this adapter.  Not only does it eliminate the need for a different adapter for each travel region, but it also includes 4 USB plug-ins as well.

Just switch the adapter to the region you are visiting, plug the adapter into the wall, and then start charging your devices.  And with both AC plugs and ample USB charging ports, you can charge all of your devices at once.

  1. The pillow looks interesting and the power adaptor looks easy to use. But an iron? Really? I don’t even iron at home so that one is definitely not for me.
