After flying overnight, we were glad when we were finally arriving in Iceland this morning to start our big adventure. We spent part of the day exploring the capital city of Reykjavík and then visited the iconic Blue Lagoon to relax and shake off the jet lag. Reykjavík is a charming city renowned for its vibrant houses, lively street art, and welcoming atmosphere. We were very grateful for the warmth and hospitality we were shown.

After soaking in the sights of Reykjavík, we made our way to the famous Blue Lagoon. This geothermal spa, nestled in a lava field, offers a surreal experience with its milky blue waters and stunning natural surroundings. The warm, mineral-rich waters are not only a treat for the senses but also provide therapeutic benefits, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of adventure.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing food that we have had so far. Reykjavík boasts a diverse food scene that reflects both traditional Icelandic cuisine and modern culinary trends. From fresh seafood caught in the surrounding waters to lamb dishes that highlight local farming practices, the flavors of Iceland are both unique and memorable. We are already loving the food scene and can’t wait to try more local favorites.
After arriving in Iceland, settling in, and then exploring the amazing city of Reykjavík, we will be getting some much-needed rest tonight. Tomorrow, we will be exploring the iconic Golden Circle. Some of the many incredible sights we will see include the Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall. This has been on my travel bucket list for quite some time. In the meantime, here is a gallery of some of the wonderful pictures I have been able to capture on my Iceland adventure thus far.
