Located in central Spain’s Castile and León region, the incredible city of Segovia is a can’t-miss stop for anyone visiting Spain. Thankfully, because it is just a short train ride or drive from the capital city of Madrid, it is easy to fit into most itineraries. And believe me, you definitely won’t regret spending time in this amazing city.
Renowned for its rich architectural legacy, Segovia is home to a staggering number of incredible historical structures. Not only is it home to the magnificent Roman aqueduct in Segovia (which spans over 800 meters), but the Alcázar of Segovia is so beautiful that it was one of the primary inspirations for the Walt Disney Castle.
One of the largest castles in Ireland, the Cahir Castle is also one of the prettiest. One of the things we loved the most about this castle is the lack of crowds. It isn’t as notorious with tourists as some of Ireland’s other castles (the Rock of Cashel is just 30 minutes away), so you rarely have to battle large crowds to get access to parts of the castle or have to wait for people to clear to get good pictures.

Located near the city of Cork in Southern Ireland, the Blarney Castle is one of the most famous castles in Ireland. Built by one of Ireland’s most powerful and influential chieftans, Cormac McCarthy roughly 600 years ago, the castle attracts droves of visitors to this day. Much of that has to do with the legendary Blarney Stone, which is said to give you the gift of eloquence upon kissing it.
One of the more amazing castles that we got to see in Ireland was the Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland. The castle itself has seen better days, as you can see by the pictures, but the location where the castle was built is absolutely breathtaking. Talk about your prime real-estate.
