Like they say, all good things must come to an end. Today was the last day of our incredible Ring Road adventure. However, we may have saved the best for last as Southwest Iceland certainly delivered. One of our favorite stops during the day was to the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. This stunning beach is renowned for its dramatic black sands, which contrast beautifully with the white surf of the Atlantic Ocean.
Today, we start the home stretch on our Iceland Ring Road adventure. After spending yesterday exploring the East Fjords, today we headed into Southeast Iceland to explore some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. One of my very favorite stops today was at the incredible Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. This magnificent canyon, carved by glacial meltwater over thousands of years, features steep, moss-covered walls that rise dramatically from the river below.
