Lions in the Ngorongoro Crater

First off, I want to thank those of you who are consistent readers as you have provided the inspiration to start this blog and to keep it growing the way that it has.  I enjoy reading and responding to each and every comment or question that you have and I enjoy learning from you as much as I enjoy sharing my experiences.

If you haven’t noticed, we are starting to do some transitions on the layout of the blog as well.  We have updated the theme and have added some advertising to the site to help offset some of the expenses of running the blog.  I hope that isn’t too inconvenient and any feedback you might have on that would surely be welcomed and appreciated.

It is going to be a really busy next few months for us, so I also wanted to provide an update on what articles, guides, and itineraries we will be posting.  As we told you in our 2018 Travel Plans article, we set a pretty ambitious schedule for travel in 2018 and we are well on our way to meeting most of those goals.  That means there are going to be a lot of new articles coming your way.

Ireland Itinerary

2018 Travel

In case you haven’t noticed, I have been writing quite a bit about Ireland lately.  I have already written and shared quite a few visitor’s guides for many of the amazing attractions and cities in Ireland and Northern Ireland.  I am currently working on a new 12-day itinerary for visiting Ireland that I hope to share with you very shortly.  This guide will be like my other guides and will be laid out in a format that allows you to pick-and-choose from activities to build your own trip.  I don’t want to just give you an itinerary, I want to help you build an itinerary that fits you and that you are excited about!

The American Southwest

Zion National Park

In April of this year, we took a trip to Southern Utah to re-visit some of our favorite parks there, and to visit the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument (a monument we had yet to visit).  It was an amazing trip and I have already been able to share with you some guides to the many wonderful places we enjoy.  I have also developed and shared with you the first of what will be many itineraries for visiting the area.

In the next few months, you can expect another itinerary for visiting the American Southwest.  This will be a longer itinerary that will also include the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and the national parks in the Eastern part of Southern Utah.  It is such an amazing area of the United States that I really could dedicate an entire blog to this area of the country.

New York City

2018 Travel

I was also able to take a short trip to New York City in June, which was an unexpected surprise.  It was my first time to New York City, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  It is such a remarkable city, not just in its size, but in its diversity and the amount that is going on at all times.  In the coming months I will be sharing a guide to visiting New York City with you that I hope you will enjoy!

Beautiful Tanzania

2018 Travel

It’s been over a year since we visited Tanzania, and I have already shared with you some of the great experiences we had in this amazing country, as well as some guides that I have developed on some of the beautiful places we saw.  I was absolutely in awe with the beauty of the country and how kind the people of Tanzania are.  It is a country that holds a special place in my heart, and I would love to share more of my experiences in Tanzania with you.

In the next few months I will be developing a visitor’s guide for the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, as well as some instructional articles relating to preparing to go on Safari.  There is so much that I learned that I can share with you to help you make your experiences on safari the best they can be.  I am really looking forward to writing those articles and sharing them with you.

2018 Travel

I also plan to write articles on some of the other amazing cultural experiences that we had in Tanzania.  I will be sharing with you a guide on doing a coffee plantation tour in Tanzania, our experiences visiting schools near Arusha, and the cultural heritage center of Tanzania.

Finally, I plan to tie it all together with a Tanzania visitor’s guide and itinerary.  My hope is to teach people a little bit more about this great country and its wonderful people, and to help you get more out of your future trip if you choose to visit.

Northern Minnesota

2018 Travel

In early July, I was able to take a trip thru Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, and I am very eager to share those experiences with you.  Growing up in Minnesota and living in Wisconsin, I am very familiar with these areas and I am very excited to show you just how beautiful they are.

I will be writing a visitor’s guide for Voyageurs National Park in Northern Minnesota and a visitor’s guide for the Apostles Island in Northern Wisconsin.  Both are mostly water-based attractions that offer a wealth of opportunities for those of you who love to boat, kayak, or canoe.  So please be on the lookout for those upcoming visitor’s guides.

Upcoming Trips

We also have a number of really big trips planned for the next few months, and those trips will undoubtedly lead to more articles, visitor’s guides, and itineraries to share with you.

Cape Breton

2018 Travel

In early August, we will be taking a trip to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to do some golfing at the famous Cabot Links Golf Resort near Inverness, Nova Scotia.  This golf course is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, and we are really looking forward to seeing and playing the course.

In addition to golfing, we will also be visiting a few national parks.  The first park we plan to visit is the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on Cape Breton, which looks absolutely stunning.  I am a sucker for rocky sea shores and sea-side cliffs, and this park has those in abundance.

We are also planning on heading south to make a return visit to Acadia National Park in Maine.  Arguably the most famous of the US National Parks East of the Mississippi River, Acadia is one of my favorite national parks that I have visited.  We will be exploring the park, as well as the Bar Harbor area.

Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands

2018 Travel

In early September, we are going to be taking our biggest trip of the year.  We will be visiting Peru and Ecuador to visit Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, with visits to Lima, Peru and Quito, Ecuador as well.  I could not be more excited about this trip.

I have already shared with you some of the process that went into the planning for this trip, and after these visits I will be looking forward to sharing some visitor’s guides and itineraries with you.  Not to mention, I am sure I will have plenty of cultural and wildlife experiences that I will share with you in articles as well.

Nashville

2018 Travel

My last planned trip of the year is a visit to Nashville, Tennessee to take in the famous country music scene in the city.  I have heard so many amazing things about visiting Nashville and going to see all of the live shows that have made the city famous in country music circles.  I cannot think of a better way to cap off a great year of travel, and I hope to be able to share this experience with you in the form of articles and a visitor’s guide.
