When you think about visiting Tanzania, most people will probably think first-and-foremost about the country’s incredible wildlife and going on safari. One might also think about the amazing culture of the Masaai tribes that live on the grasslands of the country. What will almost assuredly not be on the top of most people’s minds is coffee and coffee tours.
The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is one of the most famous wildlife habitats in the world. This large park in Northern Tanzania, along with its sister park (the Masai Mara) in Kenya, plays a pivotal role in the great wildebeest migration. This great migration, which also features zebra, gazelle, and other grazing animals, brings over two million grass feeders thru the parks as they follow the rains each year. It is quite an unbelievable spectacle to behold.
Without any doubt, the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. Nowhere else in this world can you find such an abundance of wildlife, all within a relatively small location, to view all year round. Beyond the sheer beauty of the crater itself, that is what makes the Ngorongoro Crater so special. More than anywhere else, you are almost guaranteed to see the wildlife you came to see when you visit Ngorongoro.
While Arusha National Park may not be the biggest national park in Tanzania, it does have a lot of beautiful landscapes and wonderful animals for visitors to enjoy. That, along with its very convenient location next to one of Tanzania’s largest cities, makes it a popular destination for tourists visiting Tanzania.
In this guide, I am going to give you all of the information you need to plan your trip to visit Arusha National Park. We will discuss the best times to visit this beautiful park, what you need to be aware of before you visit, the best things for you to bring along with you on safari, how much you can expect to pay to visit the park, and what amazing sites and animals you can expect to see within the park.
When we took our trip to Tanzania a few years ago, we really wanted to visit Zanzibar while we were there because we had heard such amazing things about the island. We were not disappointed. Between the wonderful people we met, the beautiful landscapes around the island, and the interesting foods that we got to try, it was an amazing experience. One that we are glad we were able to have, and one that we will never soon forget.
When we visited Tanzania last year, we were very fortunate to be able to go on safari and see some absolutely amazing things. I don’t think it is possible to truly understand how amazing safari in Africa is until you experience it yourself. Seeing some of this world’s most amazing animals in their natural habitat.
One of the neatest and most educational experiences we had when traveling in Tanzania last year was a visit to a Maasai village. They have such a unique and amazing culture and it was really cool to be able to visit with them and learn more about their way of life.
We took a 4 day safari thru Lake Manyara National Park, the Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Along our many drives we would see the Maasai villages and the young boys out herding their cattle. It was fascinating to see how they lived from a far, but we wanted to know more about their culture and way of life.
Located just outside of the city of Arusha, the Nduruma Polo and Country Club is a social meeting spot for the community of Usa River, Tanzania. It is a place where you can go to meet up with friends, have a beer, and watch some fantastic polo being played. It’s a place where, even as strangers, we were made to feel very welcomed.
