The Incredible Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

I have been fortunate enough to have visited more than a few of the Wonders of the World during my travels, but none have taken my breath away quite like the incredible Victoria Falls on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. There are many amazing waterfalls in the world, but I am not sure that many if any, compare to this African giant. It is nicknamed “The Smoke That Thunders” because of the immense amount of mist that the waterfall creates and the thundering sound of the 300,000 gallons of water that falls into the canyon every second creates.

There is just something special about Victoria Falls that makes you feel like you are discovering something new that no one has ever seen before. Walking thru the woods on your approach to the falls, you can hear it long before you see it. As you start to approach the falls, your clothes start to get soaked by the incredible fog of mist that fills the air. Then, once you view over the canyon and see the giant wall of water that is falling into a seemingly bottomless canyon, you go speechless. Seconds turn into minutes as you just sit and stare at the beauty of the falls.

Victoria Falls is certainly one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my travels. What is something that you have encountered during your travels that has left you speechless because of its beauty?
