According to legend, the city of Rome was formed by brothers Romulus and Remus, who were raised by wolves. Fast-forward to today and perhaps no city in Europe has as deep and as storied a history as Rome. From the days of the Roman Empire, to the age of enlightenment and the Renaissance, to the hustle-and-bustle of modern-day Rome, the city has seemingly always loomed large throughout modern human civilization.
While Arches and Canyonlands draw most visitors to Moab, the Corona Arch hike remains one of the region’s true hidden gems. Close to town, easy to reach, and accessible for most hikers, it’s quickly becoming a local favorite—especially since the arch itself is every bit as big and beautiful as the famous Delicate Arch inside Arches National Park.
If you’re visiting the Melbourne area and want a fun, memorable half‑day outing, the Phillip Island Penguin Parade is a standout choice. Along this small stretch of Southern Australia’s coastline, the world’s smallest penguins have become the region’s biggest attraction. These tiny birds spend most of their lives at sea, returning to land each night to rest and feed their young. They come ashore after sunset, when predators have poorer visibility, making their nightly “parade” both predictable and safe.
Known by many as the “Niagara of the West”, the breathtaking Shoshone Falls in Southern Idaho is a landmark that all travelers who visit the American Southwest should have on their itinerary. With a drop of 212-feet (roughly 65-meters), Shoshone Falls is actually 45-feet taller than the infamous Niagara Falls on the border between New York State and Canada.
When most people think of Australia, two of the most common things that come to mind are Koalas and breathtaking coastline. If visiting Australia is on your bucket list and seeing these two things are dreams of yours, then you will absolutely love the Great Ocean Road in Southern Australia.
As anyone who has traveled the United States by car extensively will tell you, sometimes you just happen to come across a landscape during your travels that so completely blows your mind that it renders you speechless. For me, one of these is undoubtedly the kind of weird, extremely cool, and very unique landscape of Craters of the Moon National Monument in southern Idaho.
