We all have a bucket list of things that we would like to do or see before we die. Getting around to actually doing these things or seeing these places is another matter, but we all have a list. We thought it would be fun to share with you our list (at least as it stands right now), and hear from you on what locations you are anxious to see. The following list includes the places that we would really love to visit and why. Let us know which places have you excited!
The Rock in Zanzibar, Tanzania is one of this world’s most beautiful restaurants. Especially at high tide, when you have to take a boat to the restaurant.
The Kikuletwa Hotsprings is a spring oasis near Arusha, Tanzania. It is a popular destination for both locals and tourists looking to get away from the heat. The crystal clear blue-green water, surrounded by beautiful forest, is absolutely stunning.
One of the more fascinating things we learned while we were in Africa is the relationship between the cape buffalo and the ox pecker. These two animals couldn’t be more different, but yet they have a close relationship in the wild.
There has bee a lot of talk in the past decade on how safe walking safaris really are. In most countries in Africa, guides are not allowed to carry guns on walking safaris. Poaching is still a big issue in Africa, and keeping guns outside of the parks should be a top priority. This means that clients are reliant upon the skill and experience of their guides to keep them safe while walking in the African bush.
2017 was an incredible year of travel for us. We got to see some amazing places that we have always dreamed of seeing. We have been incredibly blessed and fortunate to have been able to travel to and see so many amazing places. For that, we are thankful.
Without a doubt, one of my favorite things we got to see was a black rhino chasing a number of spotted hyenas in the Ngorongoro Crater. You can see how formidable black rhinos can be, and why most other animals give them their due respect.
I had been sitting awake for the past half hour, listening to the tell-tale whooping sound of spotted hyenas getting closer-and-closer to our camp
We have certainly seen first-hand the effect that over-crowding can have in our travels throughout Europe. Longer lines and a scarcity of accommodations is something that every traveler needs to factor into their travel planning these days.
A cute video we took in Rwanda of two juvenile Mountain Gorillas wrestling. We were trekking through Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda. There are only around 7 groups of mountain gorillas left in Rwanda, so they are still extremely endangered.
